"It was a big shock" - Cycling legend Sir Chris Hoy diagnosed with cancer

The multiple British gold medal winner Sir Chris Hoy has been diagnosed with cancer. He is currently undergoing treatment and chemotherapy, as reported by Feltet.dk.

Hoy, a legend especially in track cycling for the former Team Sky , was shocked himself, as no symptoms had previously indicated this disease. "I was diagnosed with cancer last year, which was a big shock as I had no symptoms until then," he explained openly in a post on Instagram.

"I am currently undergoing chemotherapy, which fortunately is going very well. I would like to say a big thank you to all the medical professionals," added Hoy. Nevertheless, he wants to keep the progress of his treatment hidden from the public, especially with regard to his family.

Sir Chris Hoy was awarded a knighthood of Great Britain in 2009, also because he achieved 3 Olympic gold medals and 11 world championship gold medals during his active time as a cyclist, as well as many other awards.
