Laura Sussemilch has some more bad news for her fans. She has revealed she was diagnosed with three new fractures.
She was involved in the crash in the second stage of the Tour de France Femmes, which resulted in her abandoning the tour. She was rushed to the hospital and diagnosed with a fracture of two cervical vertebrae.
"I'm glad I'm still alive," she wrote on Instagram. Despite taking strong painkillers, she was facing unyielding distress in her head. She went to the hospital and found out about three new fractures, including a third broken cervical vertebra, a broken rib, and a fracture on the back of her head.
She revealed in her Instagram post that she can function properly as there is no need for operation currently, but there is no fixed date for her return in the peloton."Thank God that I am still alive and will soon be 100% healthy again. I do not need an operation. Currently, I am already able to get out of bed and walk with support. The plan is to leave the hospital in a few days. I will come back stronger," concluded Sussemilch.
