Ide Schelling took the win from a reduced bunch sprint finish on stage 3 of the Tour of Slovenia after a late roundabout caused chaos.
Expected to be a day that could open the overall classification. There will be a rather long ascent early in the day however it shouldn't be decisive to the outcome of the day. It'll be in Postojna that the stage will be decided, there is a decently tough hill just inside the final 15 kilometres that could split things up, a very open finale.
There were eight riders in the day's breakaway. With the best placed in the general classification being both Alessandro Iacchi and Lukas Meiler at 20 seconds down.
As the riders took on the Šembije climb however the numbers in that leading group dropped to just 5.
With almost exactly 20km to go, the breakaway's day out was brought to an end by the peloton.
As the riders took on an uncategorised climb with just over 10km to go riders sensed their chance and multiple attacks happened at the front with race leader Dylan Groenewegen put into difficulty.
Heading into the final 3km and the Team Jayco AlUla sprinter had reattached himself to the back of the peloton but he still needed to work his way up to the front.
Then in a chaotic finale, half the race went the wrong way around a roundabout ruling themselves out of the running.
In the end, it was Ide Schelling who took the win ahead of Groenewegen's leadout man, Luka Mezgec.
