After finding himself being unable to finish both Spanish WorldTour stage races earlier this spring, Ide Schelling acknowledged it was time to take a break off the bike to cure a skin illness that has been bothering the Astana Qazaqstan rider for a while now.
"It turned out an unharmful skin virus, Pityriasis Rosea, had a bigger impact on my bike riding then we expected," Schelling reveals in Instagram post. "It felt like I didn't recover on the bike, after DNS's during my last 2 races I took some time off and slowly started riding."
"The first 2 weeks didn't go so smooth but now I'm finding a normal feeling in my legs again. Off to my first altitude camp next week to prepare for the upcoming goals!"
