“I think we’re in a really good place now heading into UAE Tour” - Adam Yates looks ahead after overall victory at the Tour of Oman

After a really strong start to the season at the Tour of Oman, where he took the victory on the final stage and finished first overall in general classification, Adam Yates is now looking forward to his next race at the UAE Tour.

The British rider is a former winner of the UAE Tour, having taken the overall victory in the shortened 2020 edition of the race, and he also won the queen stage on Jebel Hafeet at last year’s race. Coming off the back of his performance on the final stage of the Tour of Oman, Yates looks to be in a good position going into UAE Team Emirates’ home race next week.

“I’m really happy with that win,” said Yates in an interview with his team after his victory at the Tour of Oman. “We had to work hard for it but we managed to take the win which we’re really happy about”.

On how the team is looking going into their next race, Yates went on to say that “it’s been a big week for the team overall. I think we’re in a really good place now heading into UAE Tour next week”.
