Despite starring with a stage win at the 2023 Tour de France,
Kasper Asgreen has been notably absent from
Soudal - Quick-Step's lineups at the first two Grand Tours of 2024. Although he is now set to ride the Vuelta a Espana, as it turns out, it will be one of the final races for Asgreen in Quick-Step colours.
Having initially joined 'The Wolfpack' back in 2018, Asgreen has gone on to take a number of big wins including at the Tour of Flanders and the E3 Saxo Classic in 2021, Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne in 2020 and the aforementioned Tour de France stage win last year among others. Despite this however, Soudal - Quick-Step team boss
Patrick Lefevere announced earlier this month that Asgreen will be leaving the team upon the expiry of his contract at the end of the 2024 season.
