There really is something different about the
XDS Astana Team in 2025. Across their roster, riders have stepped things up a level and
Lorenzo Fortunato at the Tour de Romandie has been no different. After winning stage 2, the Italian performed admirably on the Queen Stage, crossing the line 3rd and moving up to 2nd overall, just 2 seconds down on
Lenny Martinez ahead of the final time trial.
"I am happy!" Fortunato began with a smile in his post-stage interview with Cycling Pro Net at the finish line atop Thyon 2000. "In the final, I had some fatigue, but in the last kilometre, I recovered a little bit behind
Carlos Rodriguez. So in the final, I don't take the jersey by 2 seconds, but it's okay. Tomorrow I can win!"
