The Queen Stage of the 2025
Tour de Romandie more than delivered on its promise of excitement. In the end, it was
Lenny Martinez who took the stage, coming out on topping of a thrilling battle with Joao Almeida. In the process, the French talent now also takes control of the Maillot Jaune with just one stage to go.
The Bahrain - Victorious leader moves into the overall lead of the prestigious Swiss stage race, although at just 2 seconds ahead of Astana's
Lorenzo Fortunato and 3 seconds clear of the aforementioned Almeida, it is by no means done and dusted in the fight for the Maillot Jaune. Stage 3 winner
Jay Vine moves up again, with the Aussie now 4th at 32 seconds.
Completing the top 5 is Soudal - Quick-Step's
William Junior Lecerf, who owes much to some selfless domestique work from
Remco Evenepoel to limit his losses to just 54 seconds at the end of the day, the same time at the 2024 Tour de Romandie winner
Carlos Rodriguez in 6th.
Juan Pedro Lopez is in 7th at 1:06, Mathys Rondel surges into the top 10 in 8th at 1:37, before Evenepoel in 9th at 1:41 and Cristian Rodriguez at 1:46 complete the top 10 ahead of the final stage time trial.
