Despite his worrying crash on Wednesday,
Primoz Roglic was able to recover and finish safely on stage 3 at the 2024
Itzulia Basque Country, retaining his overall lead of the race.
"It doesn't really matter how much you've suffered as long as you're here and on the start like everyone else," Roglic assesses pre-stage 4, playing down the potential after-effects of his crash. "I will just have to do my best!"
With a day that has the potential to draw attacks from general classification contenders, the big question is whether Roglic will be in a condition to respond to threatening moves. "I survived the night so that is most important now," he laughs.
"I don't really bother myself with all these questions of if, if, if... It's simple. I'm here again after yesterday, I finished with the bunch on the bike so we'll see how I can ride and how the body is feeling," he concludes. "The finish is hard, everybody will attack for sure. We'll just have to see how I feel and how I can do."
