How to watch the 2026 Tour of the Alps live and on TV in the USA and UK - Dates, stages and schedules

From the 20th to the 24th of April the riders will take on the Tour of the Alps. This is often used as the ultimate preparation race towards the Tour of the Alps, whilst in itself it is a very prestigious race with plenty high mountains and its international course, often crossing borders. Here is when and where to watch the race live and on TV, including in the USA and UK.
The race was created in 1962 and initially won by Enzo Moser. However there was a long break and in 1980 the race finally picked up speed. Some big Italian names conquered the days-long stage-race. The race, due to its position in the calendar, was a match made in heaven for the Giro contenders and plenty have won it. Only in the last decades the likes of Paolo Savoldelli, Gilberto Simoni, Damiano Cunego, Vincenzo Nibali, Ivan Basso, Michele Scarponi and Domenico Pozzovivo all won the former 'Giro del Trentino'.
The last Italian win was in 2013 however. Ever since there has been more international list of winners, of great quality. Cadel Evans, Richie Porte, Mikel Landa, Geraint Thomas, Thibau Pinot, Pavel Sivakov, Simon Yates, Romain Bardet, Tao Geoghegan Hart, Juan Pedro López and most recently Michael Storer took the overall wins. Storer won last year after five brutal days of racing with plenty big changes due to his battle with Thymen Arensman.

- Emotionally, everyone agrees, strategically it's highly fragile, too many unknowns and conflicting interests. As was said, no-one is expecting him to win so that pressure is manageable and imaginary (and we still can't measure any French fever) but everyone wants to see a race featuring both and there aren't many options. If his future isn't decided in advance, it will be very difficult to find an arrangement, if it is, that will be the defining criteria.Mistermaumau18-04-2026

- All teams need to have contingency plans in place for big races, in the event of accidents or mechanicals - which includes switching to neutral service bikes - and also practice them often during training. This is even more important for Paris-Roubaix, where mechanicals are the rule, not the exception.Cooldude18-04-2026
- It’s a fair point. UAE seem to fumble the big wins more than you’d expect when Pog isn’t in the race. Seems like everyone is happy to line up behind him, but when he’s not there, a power vacuum occurs and suddenly having half a dozen riders capable of being team leaders on any other squad doesn’t work so well. Pog is so good at fixing problems himself though pure power and skill that the rest of the team don’t seem to be very well drilled on other tactics and creative problem solving.antipodeanpedalfan18-04-2026
- Guessing from the filming of the race, I think the peloton got more because the camera motorbikes focused on them more, but if course that is not 100% correlated
