💥🍺 OFICIAL | Juan Ayuso está en el siete de @TeamEmiratesUAE para disputar este domingo la Amstel Gold Race 🇳🇱 #AGR22
Tomorrow's Amstel Gold Race will make for a spectacular race as the Ardennes classics see it's first phase, and UAE Team Emirates will be taking a strong team with several cards to play which will see them as one of the main contenders.
After a very strong spring, Spanish supertalent Juan Ayuso will be making his debut in a World Tour one-day race, although he has shown clear talent in the classics early in the season in the hilly classics of the French Massif Central. He will surely go as a wildcard, as the team will also rely on more experienced faces to pave the way for a result in Matteo Trentin and Marc Hirschi.
In a pre-race interview Hirschi has said: "To be back in the team and in the rhythm of the racing again after months on the sidelines feels great. The win in Italy was great for the confidence and I had good legs recently in GP Indurain on the climbs so I think the shape is where it needs to be for a good Ardennes campaign. Our team is strong so we have quite a few cards to play in the final, it’s a good situation to be in.”
The Swiss will have the company of Tadej Pogacar in the latter Ardennes, but will here have a big chance to go for a result himself. He's started off his season late due to a hip surgery in the winter, but has shown good form winning his first race of the season at Per Sempre Alfredo and having consistent results in the races following that he's used in the lead-up to his first goals of the season.
UAE Team Emirates for Amstel Gold Race: Matteo Trentin, Finn Fisher-Black, Rui Oliveira, Alexys Brunel, Juan Ayuso, Juan Sebastián Molano.
