With four months remaining to the start of the Giro d'Italia, the race organizers have revealed the four teams that have received the invitation to race the Corsa Rosa.
Both teams who had automatic wildcard invitations, Lotto Soudal and TotalEnergies, have opted to forego the Italian Grand Tour. Instead, the race has been able to invite all of it's national teams. Israel - Premier Tech were the only non-Italian team invited, who seek success in all Grand Tours and have equally been rewarded with a presence at the Tour de France.
Green Project-Bardiani-CSF-Faizanè, EOLO - Kometa and Team Corratec have been invited. Following the abandon of Androni from it's ProTeam project, all Italian teams have received the all-important invitation. The latter being perhaps a surprise.
Team Corratec is a team that have turned ProTeam only this season, and there is talks that Nairo Quintana could be joining it. The Giro starts on the 6th of May this year and will see a route that will please all types of riders, with a specially hard final week this year.
