Giro d'Italia | Aleksandr Vlasov and Lennard Kämna lead BORA - hansgrohe in search of GC success

BORA - hangrohe had a warm-up at the Tour of the Alps and they have now confirmed their lineup for the Giro d'Italia. The decisions have been made and with week and a half to go the German team has their names, and as they look to defend their title they have Aleksandr Vlasov in the lead.

The Russian climber will be targeting the overall classification. In his last presence at the Corsa Rosa - back in 2021 - he rode to fourth place, whilst last year he finished fifth at the Tour de France. He comes as the leader of a mountain-focused lineup, however he is not the only option for BORA.

He will be joined by Lennard Kämna. The 26-year old has recently won the queen stage of the Tour of the Alps - where he finished sixth - and also rode to fourth at Tirreno-Adriatico. In the past he has never targeted the GC in a Grand Tour but the form and consistency this season indicate he may, having already taken stage wins at both Giro and Tour in past years.

Patrick Konrad is off of a Top10 at Liège-Bastogne-Liège which is a promising sign, taking into consideration that he's already finished twice in the Top10 here. Bob Jungels was reborn last year as he almost rode into a Top10 at the Tour de France and won a stage. Giovanni Aleotti and Anton Palzer will provide further support in the mountains, whilst Nico Denz and Cesare Benedetti will be of crucial support in the flat stages.

BORA - hansgrohe for Giro d'Italia:

Aleksandr Vlasov, Giovanni Aleotti, Cesare Benedetti, Nico Denz, Bob Jungels, Lennard Kämna, Patrick Konrad and Anton Palzer.
