Stage 10 of the Giro d'Italia 2024 promised changes in the general classification as it was the second high mountain day of this edition of the Corsa Rosa. Valentin Paret-Peintre was the day's winner. Romain Bardet, however, did jump into the Top 10 after his second place in the day.
Tadej Pogacar remains overall leader after a day that he took it easy. The maglia rosa is aware of his advantage and that there are still two weeks to go. UAE Team Emirates accompanied him safely in the peloton, led by Ben O'Connor whose acceleration caused little split into the finish line.
The Top 6 remains intact, with Pogacar leading, Daniel Martinez 2nd, Geraint Thomas 3rd, Ben O'Connor 4th, Cian Uijtedebroeks 5th and Antonio Tiberi 6th. However, Uijtedebroeks and Tiberi lost a few seconds from the Top 4, where there was no change. Romain Bardet moved up 7 positions, to 7th, and as a consequence of his attack today. Lorenzo Fortunato dropped one position, now 8th. Filippo Zana climbs to 9th place with a jump of four positions also due to the breakaway, and the Top 10 is closed by Movistar's Einer Rubio.
