Stage five of the
Tour de l'Avenir saw a different challenge to the riders, as the peloton went on a team time-trial with 27.9 kilometers in distance going up to Saint Vallier.
The German team was the fastest to cover the distance, putting Michel Hessmann in the lead of the race now due to the effort. The Belgian and Norwegian teams completed the podium respectively, with some differences created in the fight for the overall classification.
