INEOS Grenadiers have had a tough few years and this winter certainly wasn't easy on the British team. However, they begin another season at the Tour Down Under and realistically they can aim for their first World Tour victory with a strong lineup focused on the overall classification.

Geraint Thomas had been the first rider to be confirmed in the lineup already a while back, having finished his previous season early on and wanting to have an early start this time around. The Welshman was third in 2013 but at the time being these races come mostly as preparation for later in the year. But the team does have other options for the GC. Samuel Watson and the Swift cousins Ben and Connor will be riding in support throughout the week, a lineup with no focus in the sprints but only the hilly days.

Lucas Hamilton will be making his debut in the British team here, a possible GC contender already taking into consideration it's his home race, but also his development over the past few seasons. Michal Kwiatkowski is another very interesting option, certainly the kind of puncheur who can do the longer climbs very well and also sprint for bonifications at any point in the race. Lastly Magnus Sheffield could be a potential winner of the GC, the American isn't an explosive rider but on the hilly days he could prove to be impossible to catch if he finds himself off the front and Willunga Hill shouldn't be too hard of a test for him.
