Not for the first time at this Vuelta a Espana, Geraint Thomas has been in contact with the Spanish tarmac on stage 15 as his awful luck continues.
The Welshman had big general classification ambitions heading into the race after finishing a heartbreaking second at the Giro d'Italia earlier this year. Sadly for the INEOS Grenadiers leader however, his Vuelta has been spoiled by crash after crash and as a result Thomas has been nowhere near the level required to compete for another Grand Tour podium finish.

- Pointless reporting. They are rivals, each tries their way to get their best result, with or without collaboration. As long as it’s all fair, why even report riders feelings about such stuff (yes I know, lack of other news). Anyone riding races will go through dozens of moments per race where they get emotional about the way someone else rides or takes advantage or doesn’t collaborate or more, it is natural, it is justified, it is NOT newsworthy!Mistermaumau17-11-2024
