Fractured thumb for Tiffany Cromwell after crashing out of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad WE

CANYON//SRAM Racing was one of the teams that sent a selection of their riders to yesterday's Omloop Het Nieuwsblad WE 2024 to compete for a win. The race in Belgium was won by Marianne Vos, who outsprinted Lotte Kopecky at the finish line.

As so often in previous editions of the first "classic" of the opening weekend, this year's peloton was also plagued by heavy crashes, forcing the riders to come to a standstill, especially on narrow country lanes bordered by deep ditches. The same thing happened in a similar place earlier in the men's race.

Tiffany Cromwell from the German CANYON//SRAM Racing Team was one of the riders who was badly affected in one of the crashes. She had a very unfortunate fall and had to abandon the race shortly afterwards. Cromwell soon received treatment on her left hand.

It wasn't until late that night that the team gave an update on her injury via their social media channels, in which they wished Tiffany Cromwell a speedy recovery from the broken thumb she sustained in the fall.
