Fabio Jakobsen takes the sprint win in stage 2 of Vuelta a San Juan

Soudal-Quick-Step rider Fabio Jakobsen took the win at stage 2 in Vuelta a San Juan. He and the team corrected the mistake that lead them to not being able to dispute the sprint at stage 1 and this time they did it and won it.

The stage started with a breakaway of 12 riders. Among there were the veteran Oscar Sevilla (Medellin-EPM) and Tomas Contte (Argentina National Team) who become the new mountain's classification leader. The breakaway eventually was fully caught at 5 kilometers to the finish line.

There were a few crashes during the stage and won of them got Team DSM sprint Sam Welsford who got some injuries but continued the race.

The stage ended with another bunch sprint and this time all went well for Soudal-Quick-Step with Fabio Jakobsen benefitting from a good loadout by his teammates in particular Michael Morkov. The European Champion beaten Movistar Team rider Fernando Gaviria, and Trek-Segafredo sprinter Jon Aberasturi.
