For that reason, Ayuso and Del Toro, and even Matxín, will not stop being asked about who they are going to put their trust and helpers in for the final week of the race. In statements to
Eurosport, the Spaniard sentences his words on the matter in a forceful way:
"We're both climbers. Maybe I'm a little bit better in the time trial. He's a little more explosive.
I think each of the fans can judge for themselves by watching the race," said
Juan Ayuso. Not much more can be added from the Spaniard, who obviously will avoid inflammatory statements as the team looks to protect it's unity in the best way possible.
He also adds in closing on the subject that these questions should start to be asked exclusively to Matxín: "I think that should be asked to the directors. It's a question for Matxín," the Spaniard added.
Finally,
Juan Ayuso concludes his statements by mentioning his knee problems: "
I have three stitches in my knee that hurt a lot. I was lucky that the rest day came. Then, after the time trial, they opened up again," concluded the UAE Team Emirates XRG rider, who will be looking for the overall victory especially in the last week.
