Ellen van Dijk aims for Tour de France Femmes after Baloise Ladies Tour victory - "Nice to know my power is good, and that gives me confidence for the Tour"

Ellen van Dijk won the overall victory in the Baloise Ladies Tour. Lorena Wiebes won the stage with a thrilling sprint finish.

It was a constant battle between Wiebes and Van Dijk throughout the tour. Van Dijk lost her GC lead in the second stage to Wiebes, but with her victory in the ITT stage, she was once again in the lead. “It was really nice to bring the GC home and even better to share the podium with Audrey. It has been a nice week with the team,” said van Dijk.

“I am happy with my wins in the time trial and that I could perform well all race,” said van Dijk. She continues, “I did not feel really fit in these last weeks, so it makes me happy that I got the confirmation my form is here.”

The Tour de France Femmes is set to begin on July 24, and although the team has yet to announce its roster, Van Djik will undoubtedly be there. “The win, of course, is good, but it also is nice to know my power is good, and that gives me confidence for the Tour, which is next. I am looking forward to that. First, a couple of days at home and then get ready for the next big adventure,” concluded Van Djik. She plans to rest and recover from all the fatigue before the tour begins.
