Egan Bernal certain to return to competition at Volta a Catalunya

Egan Bernal started the 2025 season in an unbeatable way, with a historic double in the Colombian National Championships, winning the time trial and the road race. However, in his first race in Europe, at the Clásica Jaén Paraíso Interior, he crashed and broke his collarbone. However, a return date is already on the schedule.
It looked like he was going to be out for a long time, and did have to cancel a few races he had planned, but after a few days he was already training and it is with certainty that he will return to competition next Monday, March 24, in the first stage of the Volta a Catalunya 2025. The Colombian rider will be the leader of INEOS Grenadiers in the next Giro d'Italia.
The truth is that since the fall that almost cost him his life 3 years ago we had never seen the rider from Bogota start a season as well, getting on the one hand the jersey of champion of his country and on the other showing incredible legs before suffering his crash on the Spanish gravel race where he was in contention for a top result.
So, according to Marca, Bernal will return in just the space of a week to compete. It is true that we have not stopped seeing him training in social media, from the Alps to Sicily in recent days.

Obviously cyclist breathe far more than average humans which should help keep things cleaner, on the other hand if you don’t clean your nose well or use an infected finger … and then why bacteria and not viruses? - Quite annoying to get all these silly partial arguments to predict results. If betting companies calculated odds this way, none would survive. If you look at MSR Tadej’s record isn’t great, 4 attempts without a win, he still needs to prove he has what it takes to win in the exact conditions that race provides. MVDP has and has shown he can counter Pog here. I think MVDP hasn’t done an early season stage race since 2021 and much has changed for both since, wouldn’t draw ANY conclusions except to say they both have good chances and everyone else don’t.
