EF Education praise Magnus Cort's 'bizarre' approach - "If that boy has it on his hips, he'll ride everything to shreds"

With ten victories already in the bag, EF Education-EasyPost has had a flying start to 2023. Magnus Cort has been instrumental in this success, having won two stages at the Volta ao Algarve.

As a teammate of Cort in the Volta ao Algarve, Julius van den Berg witnessed how Cort skillfully secured stage victories through his tactical approach. “Magnus is really bizarre,” he told lndeLeiderstrui. He continues, “If that boy has it on his hips, he'll ride everything to shreds. That is very nice to see and that also makes it great.”

He believes Cort can easily fit spring races in his schedule but chooses not to. “He's not into pushing, that's why you don't see him in the classics or, for example, in the bunch sprints, but you do see him in the uphill sprints. He is also someone who has the luxury of choosing.”

While the team's priority last year was to defend its spot in the WorldTour, this time they are prepared to reveal their full capacity. “Everyone was very focused on that last year, as a team it was very important to stay in the WorldTour. If you continue that line from last year, you get this. Because even then we were all right,” concluded van den Berg.
