Dylan Groenewegen won the second stage of the Tour of Slovenia. He took his fifth win of the season in Rogaška Slatina.

"I was able to get through the hill zone, thanks to my teammates. Then we made, together with the men of Bahrain Victorious. We had a perfect timing today, but I was caught before the last turn by the men of Bahrain Victorious," the Dutchman described. The run-up to the sprint wasn't perfect, but Luka made a very smart move by making some space for me. That way I could follow other riders and there was room to sprint," he said.

From there on the Team BikeExchange - Jayco rider managed to do his sprint properly, with little competition in the way of the win.

"It's a pity Merlier wasn't there, I like to compete against the fastest sprinters, But with Ackermann, there was another fast man in the race," he concluded. Groenewegen rode to victory in the sprint defeating Pascal Ackermann and Lionel Taminiaux.
