After five riders initially went clear in the breakaway, the last man standing was Moran Vermeulen of Team Vorarlberg.
With 18km to go, Vermeulen was caught and the race was all back together going into the finale.
Between then and the final there were numerous counter-attacks attempted, although none were able to really snap the elastic and break free from the peloton's clutches.
Heading into the final kilometre, no team really had control at the front of the bunch. When the sprints opened up, Dylan Groenewegen once again proved unstoppable, taking the win ahead of
Phil Bauhaus and Matteo Mochetti.
