Over the past week and a half a lot of activity has been noted in the transfer market. Team Visma | Lease a Bike has renewed with two riders and is looking to sign a classics specialist whilst UAE Team Emirates - XRG has lost one of its own - but is looking to conduct a signing few saw coming.
You can read the previous instance of the Cycling Market. Over the past weeks there have been several renewals at the highest level of the sport, as teams look to secure their future and assure themselves ahead of the final key months of the transfer season. Team Visma | Lease a Bike have renewed with both Edoardo Affini and Bart Lemmen for another three seasons, boosting its long-term base in the team.
A few others teams have also been very active. Lotto - Intermarché for example have extended their deals with Baptiste Veistroffer, Simone Gualdi, Stefan de Schuyteneer and Roel van Sintmaartensdijk.
Soudal - Quick-Step have renewed with Pascal Eenkhoorn; Thibau Nys has extended with Lidl-Trek; Léo Bisiaux renewed with its young French talent Léo Bisiaux whilst Caja Rural has renewed with both of its sprint leaders Fernando Gaviria and Iuri Leitão.
Contract extensions from 19th to 29th August

Official signings

Pinarello - Q36.5 Pro Cycling Team have continue their stream of new signings, a whole trio - which had previously been reported on. The Swiss team has reinforced itself with incredible talents, all three of its new figures. Tom Crabbe is coming in from Team Flanders - Baloise where has had a stellar breakthrough season with several wins.
And joining him will be Liam O'Brien from Lidl-Trek's development team, and Niels Driesen who has recently won the opening stage of the Tour de l'Avenir and finished second in the overall classification. These riders join the previously confirmed Andrew August, Mauro Schmid, Pavel Bittner and Sebastian Berwick.
UAE Team Emirates - XRG has the confirmation of departure from its sole sprinter Juan Sebastián Molano who is heading towards Lotto-Intermarché whilst having confirmed the signing of Davide Stella from its under-23 structure, as a rider who will look to fill in the sprinter shoes.
When it comes to the top teams, Lidl-Trek's signing of Jordan Jegat has also been confirmed - previously, the Frenchman was threatened to be excluded from the Tour de France by TotalEnergies if this deal had been agreed on beforehand.
Kasper Asgreen has signed with NSN Cycling Team; Kristian Egholm has departed Lidl-Trek's developmental program (like O'Brien) towards Uno-X Mobility and XDS Astana have announced the signings of Anthony Turgs and Matteo Scalco.

Rumours

UAE Team Emirates - XRG have lost Juan Sebastián Molano whilst it's also confirmed that Belgian champion Rune Herregodts will be leaving the team. But whilst previously it seemed as if he would head towards Lotto-Intermarché, it now appears to be that Movistar will be his destination.
On the other side of the spectrum, Herregodts' position should be filled by Pierre Gautherat of Decathlon CMA CGM Team, a rider who hasn't been in the spotlight much and would make for an interesting signing after Benoît Cosnefroy also joined in over the past winner.
Decathlon is looking to sign Nils Eekhoff, another one of Team Picnic PostNL's departing leaders - in a structure that isn't looking likely to reinforce itself with new leaders at the time being.
Lastly, Team Visma | Lease a Bike have also been mentioned over this past week, as the Dutch team might make a bid to sign Davide Ballerini of XDS Astana Team. The Giro d'Italia stage winner is not only a quality leadout man but also an experienced classics rider who could boost the team's lineup.
