After loosing Ángel Madrazo yesterday, Burgos-BH have today announced a new Covid-19 positive rider within the Spanish team's bubble as
Manuel Peñalver was affected and will not start the
Vuelta a Espana.
This comes as a big hit as Peñalver, 23 years of age, was perhaps the team's best option to take a stage win, having impressed this season in the sprints including a second place in a hotly contested sprint at the Volta a la Comunitat Valenciana earlier this year. Due to the proximity to the start, Burgos hence have also explained there will not be a replacement for Peñalver, and the team will start the race with seven riders.
