Bart Lemmen has had a bright start to his Team Visma | Lease a Bike career so far in 2024. The Dutchman won't be able to continue that at the Volta a Catalunya however, after a crash on stage 1.
"Bart crashed in today’s stage. Unfortunately, he had to leave the race," reads an official announcement from the Team Visma | Lease a Bike social media pages. "He’s now on his way to hospital for further examination."
Whilst the extent of Lemmen's injuries are not known at this time, 28-year-old will be a big miss for the team and the GC hopes of Sepp Kuss and Cian Uijtdebroeks at the Volta a Catalunya.
