Team Visma | Lease a Bike are having a cursed month. Jonas Vingegaard and Wout van Aert are sidelined, each with serious injuries, but the team's classics block has seen almost every single rider miss out on racing due to injury or illness. The decision has been made minutes before the start that Dylan van Baarle will not race Paris-Roubaix.
The team is departing with Christophe Laporte as a sole leader. The European champion has already missed out no virtually the entire classics campaign due to stomach issues and a saddle sore. He is not likely in his best form at the start of Roubaix, the decision to race was only made days ago.
Van Aert and Jan Tratnik are absent due to injury whilst Matteo Jorgenson is also not racing due to not feeling his best. Van Baarle himself had been ill earlier in the spring but had returned to competition recently. The team will most likely count on outsider cards and give a chance to their young figures in the team.
