Axel Laurance has secured the fourth stage of the CRO Race. It was a chaotic sprint in which he proved to be the best and crossed the finish line first to secure the victory. A photo finish was used to determine the winner.
The breakaway included Stari, Hocevar, Skok, Kepplinger, Sanchez and Pawlak. The group took a lead of 3 minutes and 35 seconds. The race saw showers of rain with some intervals.
The group was caught 13 kilometres before the finish line. Bahrain Victorious and Ineos Grenadiers were well positioned. Jumbo Visma was trying their best, but their leader Jonas Vingegaard was not with them at the front. It was a close call between Axel Laurance, Jonathan Milan and Matej Mohorič. A photo finish was used, and Laurance was declared the winner of the stage. Jonathan Milan took the silver, while Matej Mohoric finished with bronze. Milan continues to lead the GC.
