Remco Evenepoel loves making history. The Belgian rider has a host of accolades throughout his incredible career so far, including stage wins in all three Grand Tours, a Vuelta victory, monument wins, World Championships, and Olympic Games.
On Friday, he added another record to his long list of achievements with a victory at the GP de Quebec. By taking a sprint win over Giulio Ciccone, the Red Bull leader became the first rider to win UCI road races in all six continents.
He added North America to the list after notably winning in the Vuelta a San Juan in Argentina in 2020 and the Kigali Time Trial World Championships last year - tying up South America and Africa.
He has numerous wins across Europe, including becoming the only rider to ever win the Olympic Games road race and time trial at the same games. In Asia, he won the overall classification at the UAE Tour while he took his road rainbow jersey in Australia in 2023 to also encompass Australia.

Evenepoel can join exclusive club with GP de Montreal
First pointed out by cycling statistician Cilian Kelly, before his win in Quebec, Evenepoel comfortably followed up his Clasica San Sebastian triumph to take his place as the definitive favourite for the World Championships road race in two weeks' time.
However, Evenepoel can once again seal a little piece of history on Sunday as he races the GP de Montreal. If he was to take victory and make it a double in the Canadian WorldTour classics, he would become just the third rider to do so.
Only two riders have done so before him. Simon Gerrans was the first to do so in 2014 before Michael Matthews also did the double in 2018. The 26-year-old is the favourite to take the victory in the Montreal dress rehearsal just two weeks before the World Championships goes down in the same city.
World Championships on the horizon
Defending world champion Tadej Pogacar officially confirmed that his 2026 season was over last week, changing the dynamic of the road race as contenders line-up for their shot at the rainbow jersey.
The news propels Evenepoel into the position of favourite for the race, alongside other contenders such as Mathieu van der Poel, Isaac del Toro and Paul Seixas. However, he could even face a contender from within his own ranks in the Belgium team.
Wout van Aert finishes the Vuelta a Espana on Sunday evening. With two stage wins before the final stage, the green jersey sealed and some impressive climbing performances under his belt, the Paris Roubaix winner looks to be reaching top form - making how the Belgian team line out tactically one of the key dynamics that will shape the race.
