Amy Pieters has crashed days before the 2021 Christmas and was unsure of her life. On the 28th of April she woke up from the coma, bringing widespread hope of her recovery, and she has since continued on her path to recovery, taking her first steps recently.
"What she shows then is the conviction that Amy will be able to walk again! Amy’s tiny steps are already turning into real steps. What a progression! We must have patience and hope. We are convinced that Amy will show us some very beautiful things," the update said.

Pieters has been going through therapy at the Daan Theeuwes Center in Woerden. The update has mentioned she is not yet able to talk, but has taken important steps such as walking and being able to cycle along on a side-by-side tandem.
