American victory in Switzerland - Neilson Powless wins GP des Kantons Aargau, his first since the Visma battle

Neilson Powless is a rider that usually thrives at the right times and today he has hit hard once again. Ahead of the Tour de Suisse, the EF Education-EasyPost outsmarted and outpowered the competition at the GP des Kantons Aargau to take his second victory of the season.
The Swiss race was suited to the classics riders, and here Powless managed to take advantage of the hilly terrain to distance the competition and win with a late solo attack. He anticipated a sprint, in which Thibau Nys accelerated to take second place - whilst Jan Christen was third on the day.

- Only one man has won the Tour after turning 35 and that was in 1922 (Firmin Lambot). I'm not sure Primoz could win the Tour even if Tadej and Jonas didn't show up on the start line.awp29-06-2025

DareDevil29-06-2025 - Is the participation of pro riders in national championship compulsory in Belgium? If it is, then report of illness is less reliable. I can see why some riders may want to skip it to prepare for the Tour and use illness as an excuse to avoid punishment. I'm not implying that Wout is doing so.
