Alexis Guerin solo effort leads to Coppi e Bartali stage four victory

The fourth stage of Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali saw Bingoal WB rider Alexis Guerin emerge as the winner. He had initially broken away from the peloton and held on to his lead until the finish line to secure the victory. Mauro Schmid finished second and James Shaw completed the podium.

The breakaway included Luke Rowe, Christian Scaroni, Ben Zwiehoff, Stefan de Bod, Gijs Leemreize, Rémi Cavagna, Lawson Craddock, Amanuel Ghebreigzabhier, Alexis Guerin, Alex Martín, Alessio Martinelli, Marco Frigo, and Aloïs Charrin. They established a gap of over 2 minutes.

After just 62 kilometers, Guerin was leading by over 2 minutes, and although several attempts were made to bring him back into the peloton, he held on to his lead. Although his lead decreased significantly in the last few kilometers, it was still enough to keep the chasers at bay.

The race ended with Alexis Guerin crossing the finish line first and securing the victory, followed by Mauro Schmid in second place, with James Shaw finishing third and completing the podium.
