AG2R loose Aurélien Paret-Peintre and Mikaël Cherel with Covid-19

The final mass testing round of the Tour de France had returned two positive Covid-19 cases however the race organizers did not reveal, as further testing was conducted before the riders were announced. AG2R Citröen Team lost two more riders before the start of stage 16.

They were Aurélien Paret-Peinte and Mikaël Cherel. Ever since Ben O'Connor's fallout in Arenberg Paret-Peintre became the team's GC option, hanging on in the Top15 until the stage up to Col du Granon, where he didn't manage to hang on with the favourites and has since dropped back. Cherel had featured in the breakaway on that same day, but with no results to show for for the team.

After Ben O'Connor suffered from the injuries in his crashes in the race, he abandoned and left the team hunting stages as their priority. Oliver Naesen had withdrew the race in the meantime, whilst Geoffrey Bouchard also left the race with Covid-19 ahead of stage eight.

The team now stay in the race with only three riders: Bob Jungels, Stan Dewulf and Benoit Cosnefroy. Jungels won the ninth stage into Châtel and has in the meantime climbed onto 14th place at the start of today's stage.
