"A new story is starting for me" - Remco Evenepoel ready to make debut with Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe

The Challenge Mallorca begins this week and with it comes one of the most hotly anticipated debuts of the winter. Remco Evenepoel is going to be racing in the Red Bull - BORA - hansgrohe jersey for the first time, as he gears up for the Trofeo Ses Salines where he will be testing out his new time trial setup.

"I'm looking forward to everything. A new story is starting for me, and I'm ready to discover everything," Evenepoel shared in words to Sporza. The Olympic Champion has recently done a trip to South Africa ahead of the season start, taking some time off after a very busy winter.

After his move to Red Bull, immediately after the end of his season at Il Lombardia; he's done a few day at a team camp in Salzburg, Austria, and then travelled to the USA to do wind tunnel testing in Specialized's headquarters in California. Only then was he able to have a few weeks off, before travelling to Mallorca in December for the first team training camp of the winter.

After a large stint of training, a big priority for the Belgian this year - who will have a rather reduced racing calendar - he will now return to racing. The Trofeo Ses Salines will allow the German team to get their setup ready for the Tour de France's team time trial, and his co-leader for next July, Florian Lipowitz, will also be present.

"I've seen the team grow since joining Red Bull. This is really the step I needed to perhaps one day become the best rider," Evenepoel assured. After Mallorca he will race the Volta a Comunitat Valenciana which will be a more accurat test of his form, with some hilly and mountainous stages on the route.
