The 2025 season is now over and it is possible to make the math of the riders who have raced the most this year. Often unsung heroes, these are not usually the riders who take the big wins, but usually work horses or riders who love the Grand Tours and race a heavy calendar all-year long. The one who has raced the most accumulated a total of 91 race days...
This was Julius Johansen of UAE Team Emirates - XRG, signed to be a workhorse and having fulfilled his job. The Dane did not race a single grand tour but has had a stacked calendar from January to October with little breaks. He filled gaps for the world's top team, and worked as an efficient domestique.
Johansen has raced in Australia, Spain, Portugal, Italy, France, Switzerland, Denmark, Austria, Poland, Belgium, Great Britain, Croatia and China throughout the past few months. Not a schedule that any rider can follow.. He had 91 races days, aided by the likely lack of illnesses and injuries. Closely behind are a few riders, the gaps are small between all other riders.
Nicola Conci of XDS Astana Team raced 89 days and with 88 is Cofidis' Sergio Samitier. The riders outside the World Tour who have raced the most were Bardiani's Enrico Zanoncello and Burgos' Mario Aparicio, both with 84 race days - although both did benefit from racing the Giro d'Italia and Vuelta a España respectively; Whilst the rider at continental level who has raced the most was Terengganu Cycling Team's Adne van Engelen who had 32 race days, fully in Asia.

Julius Johansen was the rider who raced the most in 2025. And he did not ride a single Grand Tour. @Sirotti
