On the day that the 2023 Vuelta a Espana comes to a close, the location of next year's first three stages has been confirmed for neighbouring Portugal.
Lisbon, Oieras and Cascais will be the venue for the opening three days of racing at the 2024 Vuelta a Espana which will get underway on Saturday 17 August. The picturesque location of Lisbon is sure to grant a beautiful Grand Depart for the race.
Notably, this will be just the fifth time in history that the Vuelta a Espana will get underway in a foreign land. Lisbon was also the first for this honour back in 1997 and since then, Assen (2009), Nimes (2017) and Utrecht (2022) have all followed.
