2024 Tour de France likely to feature gravel racing

The 2024 Tour de France will begin in Florence, Italy, and slowly the race begins to take shape. As the stages are planned, local sources pick up on likely stages that will be raced. Gravel roads are, most likely, going to be featured in the final day of the first week.

L'est reports that the ninth stage of next year's Tour will be starting and ending in the city of Troyes and will feature several gravel sections. In the Champagne region these roads have a certain reputation, one that the Tour de France is looking to capitalize on.

Being at the end of the first week, this stage will already come after the riders have faced the mountains, but could nonetheless be quite damaging to the overall classification. On the 25th of October it will be known where the Tour will be raced around, however this stage and the presence of the famous Côte des Bar is almost assured.
