2024 Tour de France Femmes set to feature Alpe d'Huez summit finish

The Tour de France and Tour de France Femmes routes for 2024 are taking shape and with little time to the route reveal, most details are already agreed on. One that seems quite likely at this point, revealed this morning, is that the Alpe d'Huez should headline the women's race.

Ever since it's return only last year in 2022 the race has been a tremendous success. The eight-day race not only lures in the biggest figures of the female peloton in a time where a lot of eyes are locked in cycling, but the racing has also been spectacular. Furthermore, harder and harder summit finishes have been added to the Grand Tours, bolstering it's reputation. That was the case with the Planche des Belles Filles and the Col du Tourmalet, and in 2024 the Alpe d'Huez...

Whilst it is not yet guarranteed, the Dauphiné Libéré assures with a high degree of certainty that this will be happening. The 2024 Tour de France ends in Nice and the women's route is not yet known - but should also be in the southeastern region of France. The weekend in which the Tour de France Femmes will end sees a big hotel (Hotel des Grandes Rousses) already fully reserved for August.

The route will be fully revealed already in the 25th of October and most finales are set to be finalized. The race will take place between the 12th and 18th of August 2024, after the Tour de France and Olympic Games which will also take place in Paris.
