- Utter tosh.... you have 21 days racing, one aspect is GC, the other aspects are all still there, stage winners, points wins mountains wins... every element brings a spectacle... if you want to look for it!
A Tour decided in a single day - every tour has one decisive day, the baseline of every GC win comes on the back of one specific day
- My dear Tour de France fans and Javier Ares, I have one question for you when you wake up in 2 hours and read my question: "Did you get enough sleep and how did you digest today's lunch." I will ask all of you the same question tomorrow. Bon appetit.
Let's remember the celebration of Visma and Vingegaard after the TTT?🤣🤣🤣 It feels like 3 years ago, it all seems so far away, fake confidence... everything is fake. Campenaerts said yesterday morning that Jonas is the best ever and that they are going to attack the Tourmalet... LOL 🤣🤣🤣
- Yet the 7-8 man group containing his riders was not able to close the gap to lone Jonas. They are not in the league of Jonas
- I doubt any of the commentators know of your existence so how would that be possible?
- You also forget that even if somewhere along a coast far away a place reached 42, it’s a very different thing 1000m up let alone cresting at 2000 where it counts.
Don’t mix everything up
- Please don't tell me what I enjoy.
- Isnt this dominance??
But the big dollars were comin to the Pelloton, so no one said anything! Dont fall for that crap.
I remeber Miguel Indurain wining 5 in a row! No one said anything!!
- Thats the big debate right now, but is easy to desconstruct.
If it was an american or some guy from a big country, no one would say nothing. See the 7 Lance Armstrong wins:
1999: Won by 7 minutes, 37 seconds over Alex Zülle
2000: Won by 6 minutes, 2 seconds over Jan Ullrich.
2001: Won by 6 minutes, 44 seconds over Jan Ullrich
2002: Won by 7 minutes, 17 seconds over Joseba Beloki.
2003: Won by 1 minute, 1 second over Jan Ullrich.
2004: Won by 6 minutes, 19 seconds over Andreas Klöden.
2005: Won by 4 minutes, 40 seconds over Ivan Basso
I remember that NO ONE said nothing bad about that!!!
- The whole year people complain everyone is riding for minor placings and whenever Remco tries to convince others to go for it he gets stick. You people need to make up your minds what it is you want.
- Really?
Had they chased properly they could have gotten back to Jonas.
Remco has A point but has to understand each has own motivations.
Yes Lipo crested ahead (and that probably gave him hope of gaining time on Remco to « settle » leadership duties, but either he’s not that strong or he miscalculated help from DT that would never come in THAT situation because in the end it was Remco who ended up ahead, having done most of the work so teamwise it was Lipo who messed up.
Now, had Lipo collaborated with Remco, the others would have realised it would be doable to catch Jonas which would have helped EVERYONE in their podium quests, even DT had more to gain from closing in on Jonas than lose from reducing Tadej’s margin a bit.
