Being a heavier rider means you have more momentum entering a cobble sector, as your wheel hits every cobble you are going through them at a higher momentum than a heavier rider, so the lighter rider needs to pedal faster to overcome the cobble, furthermore as specified above you have to also consider the fact that the rolling resistance will affect riders of different weights, tire pressure, techniques.. There is also the fact that a heavier rider has more absolute power. TT riders tend to be good when they are of a higher weight. Explain then why are Ganna, Van aert, Kung, Tarling, etc, favorites on flat ITT? Pogacar has lost several flat TTs to heavier riders..12-04-2025 00:29

This would be the argument if a rider failed to perform but Mads is a monster on the road, on the other hand, I do agree that Jonathan Milan is a better sprinter overall, Mads is a better all rounders type of rider.12-02-2025 21:34

Kuss has had good results but overall Almeida is a better rider. 3rd at the giro, 4th at the TDF, and has a lot of podiums on 1 week prestigious races. Let's not forget that without the breakaway and the gift by Roglic and Jonas sepp could have been a top 10 in that vuelta a España.11-02-2025 22:46

Whatever your feelings he brought success to the team and made the Belgians proud by succeeding in the classics.10-01-2025 04:47

Right... Unless the two people above consider 2 Paris Roubaix and 3 Ronde meaningless... You don't win that many editions by being lucky.08-01-2025 16:57

He did a convincing display at Ancares doing peak numbers even without optimal preparation in a team that is weaker in grand tours. Sure he's getting older but the narrative that he's in his last year is ridiculous.07-01-2025 03:33

When you say a weak field what do you mean by that ? There are only 2 other riders above him and arguably Remco is at least as good or better. He won the vuelta quite comfortably despite fracture in his vertebrae and performed his best numbers ever in some stages. His TT is pretty good and he can hold his own, obviously I don't think he's as good as tadej or Jonas yet he's up there.06-01-2025 18:53

Hopefully, he'll have to gain a few kilos for PR though05-01-2025 16:08

Do you realize Primož just keeps getting better each year? Surely tadej and Jonas are definitely above him but he's arguably still a top dog, if he goes to a race he's automatically a favorite to win.05-01-2025 14:10

I have, full cobbled classics as opposed to van aert who will only do Omloop, Kurne, Flanders and PR. Most likely to avoid crashes05-01-2025 14:05
