As much as I always liked his careless racing style, his behaviour last season when he lost Wc, Ec and Lombardia was riduculous. When you're losing a couple if races in a raw in the same fashion - just purely by not being as strong as Tadej, its not even classy, but kinda honest to acknowledge the better won. Instead he was always crying that he lost, because others didn't want to help him.16:50

Beautifully said. Why so giant of a powerhouse as Remco does not even try to go Strade or Flanders, races clear cut for his characteristics.16:44

I see him as a pure talent. Technically he is brilliant. Nys has explosivity, but everything else is taught from early childhood with Sven. Del Grosso's skills are more inborn. And that, for me, is his advantage over Thibau, because over the years your physique and endurance improves, but the course feel not so much.13-01-2026 08:58

No way Nys would hold the wheel. In that same climb MVDP launched a stratospheric move and had like 14 seconds over Nys within like 300m. I highly doubt the unclipped pedal could cost Thibau even half of that. I guess MVDP just down played his advantage over the rest of the field to not provoke anything.27-12-2025 14:06

As much as his appearance makes the races boring, it's sad that a rider at his very peak of dominance is set to leave the sport. It'll leave a lot of ifs, because it looks like he could still win races for another 3-4 years to come. Like 99% of cyclist dream of winning at least one big race, he could do it with ease, but simply do not want to. I mean, it's his own right to stop, but he clearly do not appreciate how fortunate he is. Probably the money coming from the road cycling are getting too big to not put 100% of his focus on winning another couple of monuments. Although, looking at Cancellara, Sagan, Van Avermaet, Kristoff etc, dominance on the road tends to be short lived and he'll probably starts fading away there quicker that he thinks.24-12-2025 10:13

Why the hell organise such an event in a dessert with no spectators? Not to mention building an artifucial hill if we already have plenty of beautuful, demandind and fully natural courses all around the World. That's nuts.03-12-2025 16:25

Then you will miss the 2015-2017 period. It was full steam battle from the first to the last lap between him and Van Aert every single weekend from September to the end of February. I'm a cx watcher since like 2009 and this was absolute peak cyclocross man. Don’t get me wrong man, the last few seasons are good too, but it doesn’t even come close to the magical fights 8-10 years ago, when it was really like 50/50 between MVDP and WVA 2 times a week.03-12-2025 06:04

Let's stop with pumping the bubble. Nys is good, but it's entirely another planet for him to even come close to MVDP. Last winter Matthieu were doing the rest of the pack of a minute or two, even though he was not pushed to his limits at all. Nys is winning but he is like 2-3 second faster on a lap than the rest which is 20-30s at best. It's better level than Iserbyt 2-3 years ago, but to call him a thread is a madness. These journalists and "expert" are best at finding a cheap sensations.02-12-2025 22:13
