- There’s no more space on cupt, as far as my scroll goes, it’s all filled already. Am guessing space is pretty cheap down there though.
- Yes, on the other hand, if someone was paying me millions to shake the hand of others who’ve done nothing wrong, I’d go along with that, heck I usually do it just to keep neighbourly peace and not to ruin friend evenings.
It’s not like in boxing or wresting where the crowd actually expects (and kind of pays) for you to (sometimes fake or theatrically) disrespect your opponents.
- He'll pressure him to make a race ending mistake on a fast technical descent. Jonas has shown to be a better descender.
- No thanks for sharing
- He can win a grand tour in the UAE. The big problem is not UAE, the big problem is he is contemporary of two monsters (Jonas and Tadej) then only could win Il giro o La Vuelta, in UAE or in other team, when are not jonas and/or Tadej. In fact, I think he has better chances in the UAE (and better salary) than in a medium team.
- Sorry Ronald, preventing something like this from happening over 3500km of public roads is a bit more complicated than stopping fans from running onto football pitches, which, by the way also still happens regularly despite it being easier to control and far more money and resources being available to prevent it.
If you want to stop this kind of thing, you’d do better to encourage the public to help remove or calm the crazies on the roadside.
- Update: João Almeida is 6th UCI Individual World Ranking now
- Great news for UAE and Tadej, to secure a domestique who is 5th UCI overall is amazing! Great news for João? Hmm, to be honest, I'd like to see him lead a squad like Red Bull Bora or Ineos. He'll be 27 this August so it would be the right time to move and try to win some Grand Tours for himself, but hey to be part of such a winning squad like UAE must also be so rewarding! And they seem so united and friendly (except for Ayuso, who must be leaving the squad).
- Unfortunately this is an all too common occurrence and hardly gets reported on until it happens to someone with media attractiveness. It goes from brushes with mirrors, doors opening as you pass, windscreen washer jets spraying (I once even encountered a company van that had them deliberately pointed sideways to target cyclists regularly.
But, let’s not forget, this kind of senseless random aggression isn’t exclusively targeting cyclists, I’ve experienced it walking, running, on motorbikes, even in cars, recently someone heading towards me deliberately shortly swerved into and out of my opposing lane last second trying to feel alive, or scare/impress the girlfriend/sister/ride sharer/victim beside him.
It’s as if GoPro & Co are paying yobbos to force everyone into purchasing.
The laws in most countries prevent anyone taking action. A near accident doesn’t count so you have to play the system, slow down, let yourself fall, graze a little skin, then report they drove away from the scene of an accident after (in this case) you lost your balance through surprise when the wood touched you. Driving off after an incident is usually an offence that cannot be ignored by law enforcement.
- In my opinion, when pogacar attacked and jonas folllowed, pogacar was hoping for jonas to pull also in order for both of them distancing remco and both gain some time on him. But as usual, jonas never pulls for others (not even for his self benefit) and always turns his head back to see if his squad members are close to help him... So pogacar slowed down and both crossed the line calmly. Then jonas holds out his hand, like "Ey, good effort there, huh?", and Tadej looks at it weirdly like "well, i should, but i won't leave this guy's hand hanging, then they'll say i'm the bad guy" :D
