- Rolland: “My favourite? I am not going to be very original: Tadej Pogacar. He is the strongest, let’s not lie to ourselves.”
An epic and true statement... a statement that most journalists and cyclists don't like to hear. That's a statement that Jonas should be making, because I know he's afraid of Pogi... but no... Jonas is flipping things around and saying: "I can beat Pogi this year, I know I can."... Jonas wants to intimidate Pogi, get into his head, but it's not going to work.
- Jonas is the overwhelming favourite. He's going to smoke Tadej. Hold onto your butts.
- Just to remind evryone, Vingegaard hasn't beaten Pogi in a single race for 1068 days, and in the meantime, Pogi has competed in 95% of the most important races. He hasn't run away from competition and now some people are saying that Jonas is the favorite. Favorite in what, from avoiding Pogi?
- Let me tell you an anecdote about Pogi: In 2021, when he won his second Tour and was already a big cycling star, he had to pick potatoes by hand at his grandmothers and fathers farm. His grandma said: "I congradulate you for your achievements in cycling, but tommorow we're hand picking potatoes and you're coming with us."... Pogi didn't even dare to say no, he just said: "OK grandma, no problem."
- Let's be honest: the Slovenian National Championship is also a "rubbish" race for my compatriot Tadej Pogačar-Pogi. But you know who's going... Primož Roglič. Maybe this will be the first race he's won in a long time. Sad, but true.
- I totally agree, morning starts would be the best solution. The safety of the cyclists is far more importnant than advertisement and money.
- Alien genes
- He could win the tdf on not much imo - he's already ½ way there..
- I have zero time for the Lance Armstrong apologists. And my disdain for him runs deep. He is an indelible stain on the history of cycling, and the common defense that 'everyone else was doping too' is a tired, reductive excuse that ignores the full scope of his misconduct.
His legacy is defined by his character, not just his race results. Armstrong wasn't just a participant in a doping era; he was a malicious, calculating bully who weaponized his influence to destroy those who dared to challenge him. He will forever remain a disgrace to the sport.
- Yeah, surely Jonas is 58 kg...
