"Wasn't as easy as it looked" insists Tibor del Grosso after taking dominant U23 Cyclocross title win

Tibor del Grosso is the new under-23 Cyclocross World Champion. After a very impressive showing in Tabor on Saturday afternoon, the Dutchman took a dominant win.

"It definitely wasn't as easy as it looked. It was a tough course and the conditions made it even more difficult. So I really suffered," confessed the Alpecin-Deceuninck prodigy in his first words since becoming world champion in his post-race interview.

Last year, del Grosso was forced to settle for second behind Thibau Nys, who has since gone on to prove himself with victories amongst the elite this winter.

"This means so much to me," del Grosso concludes. "I always dreamed of becoming world champion and it's cool that I was able to achieve that here."

Completing the podium in the Czech Republic were Emiel Verstrynge and Jente Michels of Belgium.
