On what was an incredibly dramatic Saturday in Hulst, Tom Pidcock wasn't the happiest rider in the field. With his chances of victory ruined by an early bike issue, the Brit then attempted to force his way back through the field by any means necessary.
Clearly fuming, Pidcock was taking no prisoners in his route back towards the head of the race. One instance in particular was captured on camera as the INEOS Grenadiers rider headbutted Ville Merlov on one of the ascents in order to take 73rd position.
Ultimately, Pidcock was able to work his way back up to 25th by the finish line, however he finished some way off eventual winner Mathieu van der Poel, who himself leaves Hulst with controversy surrounding him after spitting at a spectator during the final lap.
