He's back! Eli Iserbyt silences critics with emphatic victory on return to racing at Exact Cross Heerderstrand 2024

After being forced to miss the last three races, Eli Iserbyt returned to racing with a vengeance at Exact Cross Heerderstrand 2024, taking a dominant victory over Pim Ronhaar and Laurens Sweeck.

With a point to prove after the controversies of recent weeks, Eli Iserbyt flew out of the blocks on his return to racing with only Laurens Sweeck and Pim Ronhaar able to stay in contact over the first couple of laps. As Ronhaar began to drop away on lap 4 though, Iserbyt and Sweeck threatened to make things a two horse race at the front. Fighting back well over lap however, Ronhaar kept himself in contention, although Iserbyt launched another attack to break free solo.

Clocking the fastest lap of the race so far, with three laps to go Iserbyt had extended his advantage over Ronhaar and Sweeck to 13 seconds. Avoiding any potential dramas or incidents over the final three laps, the Belgian national champion successfully secured victory on his return. A little behind, Sweeck was edged out by Ronhaar for 2nd.
