Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado delights Dutch crowd with victory at Exact Cross Heerderstrand 2024

The Exact Cross campaign continues to motor on this winter with a Dutch round in Heerderstrand. Much to the delight of the crowd in attendance, there was a Dutch winner too as Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado powered to victory.

The big favourite pre-race was Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado. In the early stages though, the Dutchwoman wasn't having much luck and was forced to let Inge Van der Heijden and Laura Verdonschot ride clear. By the end of lap 3 though, Alvarado had managed to claw herself back into contact at the head of the race, making a trio clear in front.

Rather than immediately attack over the top though, Alvarado opted to sit on the back and catch her breath having worked so hard to get back into contact. On the penultimate lap though, Alvarado finally made her move and there was no stopping her once she did as the former world champion rode off into the sunset for what was ultimately a rather dominant victory as Van der Heijden edged Verdonschot for second.
