Blanka Vas undergoes surgery on collarbone after training crash

Team SD Worx's Blanka Vas was hoping to back up an impressive season on the road with some cyclocross success and had started well with victory at the GP Oisterwijk. Sadly for the Hungarian however, a bad training crash has now threatened that aim.
"Unfortunately Blanka Vas crashed today during a cyclocross training session. She will undergo surgery on her collarbone in Herentals tonight," says an official announcement by the Team SD Worx X (Twitter) account. "Get well soon, Blanka!"
It is not yet clear for how long Vas will be out of action but hopefully the 22-year-old can return to full fitness and winning ways before too long.

UltimateOpportunist20-12-2024 - Finishing the Vuelta seems to be a reasonably attainable goal. Getting on the team to do that will be the more difficult challenge.
